Honey Garlic and Ginger Wings
Yield: 2-3 Servings
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Total Time: 1 Hour 10 Minutes
- 4 large cloves garlic (minced)
- 1½ tsp fresh minced ginger
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 Tbsp rice wine or white vinegar
- ½ cup Nate’s 100% Pure Honey
- Pinch of crushed red peppers (optional)
- 2½ lb chicken wings
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Sauce
Heat the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, orange juice, rice wine or vinegar, honey and crushed red peppers in a sauce pan on medium-low heat, stirring continuously until slightly reduced (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.
Yields ½ cup of sauce.
Wings
Preheat grill to 425°F. If using gas or charcoal grill, use medium heat and make sure the wings are not on direct flame so they don’t burn.
Pat wings dry with paper towel and toss in vegetable oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add wings directly to grill grate. Cook for about 40-45 minutes with lid closed, flipping them half way through the cook. Once nice and crispy, toss in sauce and enjoy.
If cooking in the oven, place on a roasting rack and cook for 30-35 minutes. You could also use the broil setting on an oven for the last couple minutes of the cook to get the skin extra crispy.
Note: Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 165°F.
