A Sweet Mother’s Day Dedication to Patty Sheets
“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’” – Proverbs 31:28-31
Moms everywhere have a special place in our hearts. But it’s during this remarkable time of year, as the weather warms up and flowers start to bloom, that we pay tribute to the incredible work of women and mothers who tirelessly build our families and shape our communities.
This Mother’s Day, we are giving a virtual hug to Patty Sheets, wife of our very own Nathan “Nature Nate” Sheets and mom to four growing children. Patty shines as the mom to Hudson, Haddon, Sophie & Sam and offers all of us an example of love, stewardship and (you guessed it) delicious home cooking.
Without Patty knowing, we asked her four kids what made their mom amazing, and they shared some sweet thoughts.
“I love my mom and her cooking.” – Sam, age 14
“She is very loving, regardless of the time she will put aside, to put care and support into me. I love her. She has taught me to recover. Bad things hold weight as long as you think about them. You can learn, grow and move past obstacles in your life.” – Haddon, age 18
“Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.” – Proverbs 1:8-9
As a passionate homeschooler, Patty uses her educator background to teach her children important lessons and skills that will enable them to thrive, grow and continue learning throughout their entire life. Meeting the individual demands of each of her children is no easy task, but she is willing to put aside her wants and needs to support and love her kids.
“My favorite thing about my mom is her hugs. I learned how to love and serve people where they’re at from her.” – Hudson, age 20
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – 1 Corin. 13: 4-7
Like so many women and mothers, Patty is the definition of love. As she raises her family, she has not only shown love through her words and actions but also helped her children discover the joy of loving and serving others, too.
“My mom has displayed love and mercy for me personally and has shown me how to use empathy with others. She has taught me to love and be kind to others unconditionally. She has taught me that, no matter what, rely on Jesus, because He is all that we need and lay everything at His feet. She has also taught me to love others the way Jesus has loved us and treat others the way we want to be treated. She is such a great mom and a strong woman. I love her so much.” – Sophie, age 16
To Patty, and all mothers everywhere, we thank you for making our world a more loving, beautiful place. We wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day!
After reading this surprise tribute, Patty very sweetly responded. See below what she shared with our team:
“I am overwhelmed. 💗Thank you all! I could not have asked for a greater gift! I will treasure it always. So love the thought and creativity that went into it!!!
Happy Mother’s Day to each of you!!! I know y’all are on different places on your journey, but no matter if you’re just starting, in the middle or nearing the place where you’re releasing them into the world – it is the most difficult fulfilling job you will ever have. You will never regret pouring your whole heart into it!
I pray that each of us will aim our arrows well and shoot with accuracy at the goal set before us. 🎯
Thank you Becca and to everyone on the NN Marketing Team! Love y’all!”
