Ham & Cheese Hot Honey Scones

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2½ tsp baking powder
- ¾ tsp garlic powder
- 1½ tsp salt, divided
- 1 tsp pepper
- 3 Tbsp chopped chives
- 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup frozen unsalted butter
- ⅔ cup + 1 Tsp buttermilk, divided
- 1½ Tbsp Nate’s Hot Honey
- 1 egg, divided
- ¾ cup diced ham
Directions
Whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, ½ tsp salt and pepper. Stir in the chives and shredded cheese. Grate the frozen butter into the flour mixture, and combine with two forks or your hands.
Whisk together ⅔ cup buttermilk, honey and the egg yolk. Pour over the flour mixture. Add the ham, and mix until the dough clumps. Form into a circle, and cut like a pizza into 6 pieces.
Whisk 1 Tbsp buttermilk with egg white to brush onto the scones. Then sprinkle with extra salt (optional).
Place scones on a lined baking sheet, and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes before baking for 24 minutes at 400ºF.
