Honey Pretzels
Yield: 8-10 Pretzels
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 30 Minutes
Honey Pretzels
- ¼ cup baking soda
- 1 package pre-made pizza dough, in a tube
- 1 egg
Hot Honey Mustard
- 2 Tbsp salted butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp dijon mustard
- 3 Tbsp Nate’s Hot Honey
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp paprika
- 1 Tbsp kosher or pretzel salt
Directions
Honey Pretzels
Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Fill a large pot with at least 6 inches of water, then add the baking soda. Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
Get your pizza dough out of the container and roll it out. Cut into 1-inch thick strips, then roll the strips to make a rope shape. Twist into a pretzel shape, then gently press the ends to make sure that each pretzel holds its shape.
Carefully place the pretzels into the boiling water (only a couple at a time so that you don’t crowd the pan) and boil for about 30 seconds. Remove and place on a paper towel lined plate to slightly dry off, then place onto your parchment lined baking sheet.
Whisk your egg, then brush a small amount onto each pretzel before baking.
Hot Honey Mustard
While the pretzels are baking, make your hot honey mustard. Mix together melted butter, dijon mustard, hot honey, mustard powder, garlic powder, paprika and salt. Set aside.
Bake the pretzels for 10 minutes, or until just starting to brown. Remove from the oven, then brush on a generous amount of the Hot Honey Mustard. Return to the oven and bake for about 5 more minutes, or until golden. Serve immediately, sprinkling with more salt if desired.
